The nation must mobilise its private investors for future defence

John Kunkel and Hayley Chenner, have noted Aat the October budget last year, Treasurer Jim Chalmers flagged the start of a “serious conversation” about how Australia pays for its government in the future. That conversation will intensify in 2023 on multiple fronts.

A key one will be around investment in Australia’s defence capabilities amidst rising geopolitical threats, rapid technological disruption, and pressures for more social spending at home.
